Motol Oncology Centre, Prague

Praha

Details

After its completion, the Motol Oncology Centre with cascading terraces and glass facade will be connected to the New Oncology Pavilion, which was first opened in 1997 and is currently undergoing a reconstruction.

The dominant shape motif of the object is the arch along Roentgen’s Street, which cascades up the sloped grounds.

The arch surrounds the inner atrium garden which is bounded on the west side by the main entrance hall.

On the building, strips of faced concrete that serve as boxes for greenery alternate with strips of glazed aluminium facade.

Great emphasis is placed on ensuring the most pleasant stay for the patients.

This will also be helped by the glass-walled spaces that provide views of Prague and the atrium garden.
